Health Cost Sharing

  • What if there was a way to satisfy the Affordable Care Act mandate that you have health coverage, but not have to be in a bunch of government and insurance company databases?
  • What if I could ‘opt out’ of all IRS reporting?
  • What if you could lower your annual cost of coverage and have that annual amount be stable from year to year?
  • What if you could go to any doctor or hospital you wanted to?
  • What if my program was based on actual costs and not projections?
  • What would the cost structure be like if it was a non profit?
  • What if it was Accountable and Transparent?

Its call Health Cost Sharing and its an old idea that is new again.  Religious organizations have been using this format for everything for over 2000 years. This model for health sharing has been growing rapidly nationwide for the last 30 years. In fact over $3 Billion of cost sharing has taken place over that time. It is growing even faster now that Obamacare is upon us.

The Affordable Care Act in part reads ‘….an organization….is exempt from taxation…members of which share a common set of ethical or religious beliefs and share medical expenses among members in accordance with those beliefs and without regard to the State in which a member resides or is employed.’ Once you join a health cost sharing organization you receive and exemption number to use on your IRS tax return
